The Moorings is located about four and a half hours south of Sydney and two hours east of Canberra, on the beautiful Tomago River in Tomakin. As the name suggests, it is exceptionally boat-friendly. There is a boat ramp, 15 moorings, the Marina has boats available for half-day hire, and if you have your own, there is a daily or weekly mooring hire.

The Moorings prides itself on offering a simple, old-fashioned Australian seaside getaway. Perhaps that is why it has become a tradition for so many families to return year after year. The two-bedroom units have all the basics, including a mini-kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer and a bathroom with shower only. The resort's laundry and drying facilities will also come in handy. WiFi is available for $10 per unit per week.

Try your hand at canoeing on the river, horse riding or a game of tennis. Enjoy a hearty meal and a cold one at the on-site Resort Restaurant and Bar, or stock up on essentials at the nearby general store. Sports and social clubs are also nearby.

With so much to see and explore, you’ll want a car to make the most of your stunning surroundings and all it has to offer. Watersports, fantastic fishing, bushwalking and golf await. Batemans Bay, with its restaurants, modern shops and local arts and crafts, is just 20 minutes away. Mogo Zoo and Animal Sanctuary are also within easy reach.
